Eligibility:

• Open to artists worldwide aged 18 and over.

• By registering for the Open Call, you agree to the terms and conditions.

• Please note: Applying does not automatically guarantee participation in the art fair.

• By submitting your application, you agree that we may share your submission data with our partner, Discovery Art Fair.

What can be submitted?

• One photo of your artwork.

• The work must be available for the fair and will be offered for sale in the online gallery.

• You must be the copyright holder of the submitted work.

• The work must not contain discriminatory, offensive, or violence-promoting content (neither visual nor textual).

Maximum Size

The winner may present:

• One artwork up to max. 150 × 150 cm or up to three smaller works.  

The final selection of works will be made in consultation with the winner.

Sales & Shipping

• You receive 60% of the sales price of your artwork.

• In case of a sale via the online gallery or at the fair, the buyer covers any shipping costs.  

• If your work is returned after the fair, you are responsible for return shipping costs.

• Transport from Berlin to the fair and back to Berlin will be handled by New & Abstract.

Participation Fee

• A processing fee of €20 applies per submitted artwork. This covers part of the costs for communication, curation, and installation and is non-refundable.  

• You may submit multiple works. The processing fee applies to each submission.  

• No additional costs apply, even in the case of participation in the exhibition and fair.

Timeline

• Open Call deadline extended: March 22   

• Winner and Honorable Mentions announced by March 24 (via Instagram and direct notification)  

• Artworks must arrive in Berlin by April 8, 2026  

• Discovery Art Fair Cologne: April 23–26, 2026

Application & Payment

• Applications are only possible via the registration form below.  

• Complete all required fields (*), upload an image of your work, and proceed with payment.  

• Click “Submit & Pay” to be redirected to the checkout page, where you can choose your payment method (PayPal, Visa, Klarna, etc.) and enter your billing details.  

• After completion, you will receive a confirmation email from us and from the payment provider.  

Payment Notice 

Your application is only valid and officially received once the €20 processing fee has been paid no later than March 22, 11:59 pm.

If anything is missing, we will contact you.

If you are unable to use any of the payment methods offered, write to us at [email protected] and we will send you an invoice for a bank transfer.
